Metal fabrication and installation in Esenyurt

Dense residential and commercial building stock; mainly apartment building entrances, roller shutters and custom ironwork.

This page also covers the surrounding area: Kıraç · Haramidere · Saadetdere

01Area

What kind of work comes up in Esenyurt?

Esenyurt is densely built, and most of the work involves existing buildings. Rather than building a new villa entrance, the jobs that come up are renewing an existing apartment building entrance, replacing a worn roller shutter, or fabricating partitions and protective metalwork for a business.

For apartment building entrance doors, the most decisive factor here is intensity of use. A door used by dozens of apartments cannot carry the same hinges and closer as a villa entrance; it needs a hydraulic door closer, reinforced hinges and a more durable lock. If an electric lock is wanted, it is installed together with a mechanical cylinder — an apartment building door that opens only electrically leaves everyone locked out during a power outage.

Along the Kıraç and Haramidere corridor, there are small and medium-sized production and storage buildings. Requests from here usually fall under custom ironwork: utility room doors, service stairs, security cages, platforms and reinforcement of existing steel structures. For this work, measurements are always taken on site, because openings in existing buildings are almost never perfectly rectangular.

Roller shutters involve a particular situation here: on narrow streets, shopfronts are very close together and pedestrian traffic cannot be stopped during installation. So we schedule installation for early morning and bring the guide rails ready-made from the workshop to shorten the work on site. Where the shutter box will sit on the facade is also decided during the site survey; it cannot be moved afterward.

Demand profile

In Esenyurt, most of the work is on existing buildings: renewing apartment building entrance doors, roller shutters, custom ironwork and security cages. Rather than new fabrication, the focus is on making something that has been in use for years work properly and safely again.

Along the Kıraç and Haramidere corridor the picture changes: small and medium-sized production facilities and warehouses come to the fore. Requests from here are for custom ironwork, site perimeter fencing, roller shutters and, from time to time, steel construction. The difference between the two areas is that in one, heavy use is the deciding factor, while in the other it is durability.

03Local conditions

What drives our decisions in Esenyurt?

Climate, ground, wind and access conditions directly change our decisions on sections, surface treatment and installation. This section explains what we do differently in this area, and why.

  1. 01

    Wear rate under shared use

An apartment building door used by dozens of apartments reaches a cycle count that cannot be compared with a villa entrance. The consequence is a heavier-duty choice of hinges, lock and door closer. The first sign of wear is usually the door rubbing or the latch going into the strike with difficulty; this shows the leaf is starting to drop, and early intervention is both cheap and easy.

  2. 02

    Measuring existing buildings

An opening made years ago is often not perfectly square: centimeter-scale differences between the two sides and out-of-plumb walls are normal. So for fabrication that has to fit an existing building, we measure at several points rather than one, and make a template if necessary. A frame made from a single measurement either jams or leaves gaps in an opening with these deviations.

  3. 03

    Working space on narrow streets

On narrow streets where shopfronts are very close together, installation has to proceed without stopping pedestrian traffic. This limits the equipment that can be used and the length of parts; on streets where long parts cannot be turned, we split the fabrication so it can be joined on site. We also schedule delivery for the early hours, when traffic is lightest.

Situations we often encounter in this area

We don’t give client names, project names or dates; what we describe is the situation itself and how it was solved.

  • The apartment building door keeps failing

The source of the fault is often not where people think. If the lock keeps breaking, the cause is usually not the lock itself but a dropped leaf: because the latch does not enter the strike squarely, it is strained on every cycle. We check the leaf and hinges first; adjusting or reinforcing the hinges solves the problem at its root in most cases, and replacing the lock becomes unnecessary.

  • A security cage that blocks maintenance

A common mistake with security cages on business and warehouse windows is making the cage fully welded and fixed. When the glass needs replacing or the exterior needs maintenance, the cage has to be cut off. In our fabrication, we leave a removable panel or a hinged hatch for maintenance — a simple detail that keeps access without reducing security.

06Delivery and installation

How do we get from Arnavutköy to Esenyurt?

Delivery from Arnavutköy to Esenyurt is a short trip. On routes with heavy traffic, we schedule delivery for early morning; on narrow streets, we set part lengths according to access.

For work that has to fit an existing building, measuring often takes two stages: first the opening dimensions and a plumb check, then a template if needed. The main factors in installation time are street access and working hours. We state the exact number of days in the quote after the site survey.

We have no branches or dealers; all fabrication is done in our own workshop in Arnavutköy. Price and lead time depend on the size of the job, the opening and the installation conditions — so we don’t quote a figure or a number of days up front here. Send your measurements and location, and we’ll work it out for your project.

07FAQ

Frequently asked questions for Esenyurt

  • Our apartment building’s entrance door keeps breaking down — what should we do?

A door in shared use wears many times faster than a villa door. If the door rubs or the latch struggles to enter the strike, the leaf has started to sag; with adjustable hinges this is solved by a simple adjustment, but if it is put off, the frame is strained as well. For a new door, we recommend a hydraulic door closer and reinforced hinges.

  • Does our building need a fire escape stair?

That is not something we can determine. Whether one is required is set by regulation according to the building’s height, number of floors and occupancy class; the definitive answer comes from the fire department or the relevant municipal office. Come to us with their determination, and we will plan the dimensions and installation accordingly.

  • Can I have partitions and security cages made for my business?

Yes. There is one important detail with security cages: leaving a removable panel or hinged hatch for maintenance. A fully welded enclosure has to be cut off at the first maintenance. We take measurements on site, because openings in existing buildings are not true rectangles.

  • Is the lock broken, or has the door dropped?

A simple check tells them apart: close the door slowly and see whether the latch enters the strike squarely. If the latch rubs at the bottom or top, the problem is not the lock but the leaf dropping. In that case, replacing the lock soon brings you back to the same point; adjusting or reinforcing the hinges is the lasting fix.

  • Will a new door fit the old door opening exactly?

It will, but we take the measurements with that in mind. An opening made years ago is usually not perfectly square; centimeter-scale differences between the two sides are normal. We measure at several points, make a template if necessary, and fabricate the frame so that it absorbs the deviation within itself.

  • Can you install at my shop on a narrow street?

We can; the plan is just a little different. To work without stopping pedestrian traffic, we limit part lengths and, if necessary, split the fabrication so it can be joined on site. We schedule delivery for the early hours, when traffic is lightest. Sending us photos of the street and the frontage speeds this planning up considerably.
