What is this model for?
A villa’s entrance is the opening line of the house; here, a wood tone instantly softens a cold facade. In this model the visible surface is made of wood-pattern composite panel and the body of steel — you get the look of wood without the rot and the yearly varnishing. The panel is mounted to the leaf with concealed fixings, so no screws are visible from outside. The inside of the leaf is filled with insulation; this layer does most of the work of holding the temperature difference between the entrance hall and the outside air. The handle is usually a full-height vertical one, because on a leaf with a wide panel a short handle makes the door look out of proportion. If built-in lighting around the door is planned, cable routing is built in during frame fabrication; a channel cut later spoils both the insulation and the appearance.

03An honest note
When is this model not the right choice?
On a facade fully exposed to the sun with no shade, a dark wood-pattern panel surface holds heat noticeably. Also, at heavy-traffic entrances such as apartment buildings, the panel surface gets scratched; there, the raised-panel model (SM-BG004) is more durable.
Selling the wrong model does nobody any good. Send us the measurements and a photo of the installation site; if this model does not fit, we will tell you which one does.
