Custom Ironwork and Metal Works
Not every job fits in a catalog. A door for a basement entrance that no standard size fits, a narrow stair up to an attic floor, a guard cage around a machine — this section is for work whose dimensions and solution are specific to the project.

02Approach
Jobs that fit no standard size are solved here
- On-site measurement is a mustWall plumb, level differences and the tolerances of the existing structure are checked on site; we do not take on jobs based on measurements on paper.
- Made in the workshop, installed on siteCutting and welding are done indoors; only installation remains for the site.
- On-site welding serviceParts that cannot be removed are repaired on site; the seam is ground, and the area is re-primed and repainted.
- Regulations govern fire escape stairsStep, railing and landing dimensions are set by the regulations; fabrication and installation are undertaken together.
There is a field that begins where standard products end: work that has to fit the tolerances of an existing building. In an old building the walls are not plumb, the levels do not line up and an opening measures differently at three points. A catalog product will not fit these conditions; even if it does, the gaps get filled with silicone and the job shows its flaws within a few years.
In this kind of work, the process starts with measurement, and measurements are always taken on site. The dimensions on paper and those on site almost never match; the plumb of a wall, the level of the floor and how the existing structure has settled can only be understood by seeing them. After measuring, a drawing is produced and approved, and fabrication is done in the workshop. All that remains on site is installation and, where needed, on-site welding.
On-site welding is a service in its own right within this section. A railing that cannot be removed and taken to the workshop, a broken hinge, a cracked structural member — these are dealt with on site. Cleaning the welded surface, grinding the seam and re-priming and repainting the area are an integral part of the job; when these steps are skipped, corrosion starts right at the weld seam.
Fire escape stairs hold a separate place in this section, because regulations, not aesthetics, set the rules: step dimensions, railing height, landing width and escape direction. The discussion here is about compliance, not design preference. We take on fabrication and installation together; when the two are separated, who is responsible becomes a matter of dispute.
What the jobs in this section have in common is that the solution comes from the measurements, not from a product. When we do the same job in two different buildings, the drawings differ too, because one is fixed to a reinforced concrete column and the other to a masonry wall. That is why we do not quote prices over the phone: two jobs with the same description can differ noticeably because of the surface they attach to and the access conditions.
03FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Metal Works
Is electricity needed for on-site welding?
Usually, yes; having a usable power outlet on site speeds up the work. Where there is no electricity, we can work with a generator; we determine this during the site survey.
Can rusted ironwork be saved with paint?
If the corrosion is superficial, yes: the rust is removed mechanically, then the piece is primed and painted. But if section loss has begun, paint only covers up the appearance; it does not restore load-bearing capacity. We look at your situation on site and tell you plainly which case it is.
I have a very small job. Will you come out for it?
We will, but on small jobs the travel and preparation time can be longer than the job itself; in that case, we suggest combining it with other jobs in the same area. Send us a photo of it on WhatsApp, and we will tell you plainly whether it is worth a visit or whether there is a more practical solution.
Can you repair my broken railing?
Yes. In the workshop if it can be removed, or with on-site welding if it cannot. After the repair, grinding, re-priming and repainting the area are part of the job; if this is not done, corrosion starts at the weld seam.
Is a formal design required for a fire escape stair?
It depends on the building’s use and height. Step dimensions, railing height and landing width come from the regulations; we do not set them arbitrarily. If a permit and approval process is needed, we tell you at the outset.
Do you also work with stainless steel?
We do. Stainless steel is preferred in humid spaces and in applications that come into contact with food; because its welding and surface treatment differ from those of ordinary steel, it is assessed separately within the scope of the job.
I do not have a drawing; I can only describe what I want.
That is enough. Most jobs start this way: you describe it, and we measure on site and produce the drawing. After approval we move on to fabrication — what gets made is exactly the drawing you approved.
