What is this model for?
A bar-infill railing leaves the garden visible; on street-facing frontages, most homeowners do not want that. In the solid-panel type, the panels are made solid and block the view at eye level, while a narrow opening is left along the top rail to keep the railing from looking heavy. Because the panel surface is large, the wind load is many times higher than with bar infill; the post spacing is reduced and the anchors are chosen accordingly — when this calculation is skipped, the anchor point cracks the wall in the first strong southwesterly gale. On long runs, an expansion allowance is left between the panels; otherwise they buckle in the summer heat. Gold medallion and cap details added to the body break the monotony of a straight run and match other gold details on the villa facade.

03An honest note
When is this model not the right choice?
A solid panel carries many times the wind load of bar infill of the same height; on high, unsheltered walls, it should not be installed if the post spacing cannot be reduced and the anchoring strengthened accordingly. In gardens with a view, it also blocks the view completely.
Selling the wrong model does nobody any good. Send us the measurements and a photo of the installation site; if this model does not fit, we will tell you which one does.
