Vertical-Bar Wall-Top Railing

Raising a garden wall by building it up in solid masonry is costly and turns the garden into a well. A wall-top railing completes the security height with metal while preserving the view and the airflow. The posts are anchored into the top of the wall with chemical anchors; if the top mortar of the wall is weak, that area is consolidated first, otherwise the anchor point cracks in the first strong wind. Post spacing is determined by the profile section used and the overall railing height — as the spacing widens, the span between the posts flexes and the railing starts to vibrate. If water seeps into the wall through an anchor hole, it freezes in winter and splits the wall; for this reason, the base of each post is sealed on site. When made in the same infill style as the driveway gate, the entrance reads as a single piece.
