What is this model for?
For places where a single leaf is not enough: a parking garage entrance, a loading corridor, a sports hall or a meeting hall exit. With a two-leaf fire door, the hard part is not opening it but closing it correctly. The leaves overlap; if they close in the wrong order, one catches on the other, and the door looks closed while a gap remains between the leaves. That is why in this model the door coordinator is an integral part of the job: it first waits for the passive leaf to close, then releases the active leaf. On the passive leaf, the panic bar is linked to vertical rods — pushing on the bar withdraws the top and bottom bolts and frees the leaf. Both leaves open in the direction of escape and each has a panic bar; a crowd can use both leaves at once. The clear passage width is measured after the coordinator and closers have been fitted; the leaf size on paper and the width a person can actually fit through are not the same.

03An honest note
When is this model not the right choice?
Where the width of a single leaf is enough for evacuation, a double leaf is both more expensive and needs more maintenance because of the coordinator and the second closer. If there is no space in front of the door for the swing arc of both leaves, it cannot be installed either; in that case, unequal (asymmetric) leaves are considered.
Selling the wrong model does nobody any good. Send us the measurements and a photo of the installation site; if this model does not fit, we will tell you which one does.
